April 17: Conversation Café
Gathering in a circle is a practice as old as humankind, but it’s a new way for women to start talking authentically about money. In a money circle, we talk less about dollar signs, wealth, and net worth, and more about our values, well-being, and self-worth. We talk about what matters. When we meet in a circle, everyone can be seen and heard, and amazing things can happen. We get healthier, gain insights from others that help us in our own lives, and find new balance. We learn. Connect. Change a behavior. Get unstuck. Gain courage.
May 15: Take Responsibility: There's No Excuse for Being Financially Illiterate
Planning for your retirement, children's education, or other significant life events can feel overwhelming and intimidating. Planning for tomorrow can also be energizing, motivating, and rewarding. And ladies - you NEED to do it. Demystifying the financial 'lingo' and tools can be the first step to better understanding how to effectively manage your nest egg. We will spend time walking through the mechanics of how investment portfolios work and the motivation behind making certain allocations to your IRA, 401(k), or other retirement plan assets. Our hope is you will understand the components of your nest egg a bit clearer and may even feel comfortable executing some of our techniques on your own!
June 12: Shut Up and Listen: How to Communicate with Your Loved Ones about Finances
Psychologists say that many people will talk about anything, even sex, before they'll talk about their finances. Why is it so difficult for us to talk about money? Join us for what will likely be a lively discussion on how to understand the different ways people like your spouse, parents, and children think and talk about money. Once you are aware of the different Money Languages and what makes it such a taboo topic for them, you'll be able to communicate more effectively about matters of finance.
July 17: I'll Be Dead, Why Should I Care? Why Age Doesn't Matter When it Comes to Protecting Your Family and Estate
You can't change anything after you're dead. Estate planning is about much more than death planning; it's about much more than just the money. It involves your family, values, and legacy. A few minutes now can eliminate a substantial amount of stress and anguish for your loved ones. There are so many reasons for you to attend this session and learn how you can safeguard your family against unnecessary heartache and estate issues. Besides, wouldn't you want your husband and parents to do the same for you?
August 21: Sick and Don't Know it? Know the Importance of Routine Financial Check-Ups
Do you know if you will have enough money saved to retire? Or whether or not you're invested properly today to reach your goals tomorrow? What about if you have enough liquidity in case something unexpected occurs like a death or divorce? Your wealth is intended to take care of you so you can live the life you love. Time and commitment is a critical component of your financial fitness and whether or not you are living a healthy life. We'll spend this session largely talking about what is important to you and how you can focus on areas that may be more critical to your future sustainability. Don't let yourself get so 'out of shape' that it's hard to get back on track.
